THE KEY TO SUCCESS

May 26, 2017

"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful." -Albert Schweitzer

I am no expert on success. In fact, I know very little about the subject. Success has different meanings to different people. To some, it means vast amounts of wealth. I'm sure a large number of people share this belief and the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a successful person is someone that makes a substantial amount of cash. However, this is only one example. The dictionary definition of success is: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. So if one's aim or purpose is to obtain a large income and they achieved such, then one would be considered successful.

I feel that a vast majority of people, however, look towards self-accomplishments and happiness in order to consider themselves successful. I for example, love to record voiceovers. I am not at a point where I can do that full time, but once I reach that point where I can solely acquire an income doing voiceovers for a living, I would then consider myself a success. I would be happy doing what I love, while having the freedom to travel and visit my family and be my own boss. "Freedom" is the key word here.

It is funny how the "American Dream" has evolved over time. Originally it was considered to be an American social ideal that stresses egalitarianism and especially material prosperity.(https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/American%20dream). But the modern day individual identifies with the prospect of doing what they are truly passionate about for a living; for to them.....true happiness is the real definition of success. The absence of stress, anxiety, pain and conflict weigh more to some than all the money in the world. Although some feel that all the money in the world would eliminate stress, anxiety, pain and conflict. Or at least they could buy their way out of such detriments. Everything does come with a price though.

So what does success mean to you? I would love to get some feedback. Please feel free to comment below and as always, thanks for reading!

DOLLAR SHAVE CLUB

November 28, 2016

This will be short and sweet, but i must say that i have an obsession with Dollar Shave Club. I used to use other razors that you could buy in the store and not only were they always way too expensive, but they usually irritated my skin. That's why i love the entire line of products that Dollar Shave Club has to offer. First, you get to choose the type of razor you want to use; The Humble Twin with 2 blades, The 4x with 4 (obviously) or The Executive with 6 blades. Each comes with a set of spare cartridges. You then decide how frequently you want them shipped to you. The best part are their line of personal care products by Dr. Carver that help protect and nourish your skin before, during and after you shave. I recommend Dr. Carver's Prep Scrub, Easy Shave Butter and Post Shave Cream. They are all reasonably priced and i have no problem with irritation afterwards. They also have products for the shower, to protect you from the sun and to style you hair. My personal favorite, however, is the One Wipe Charlies Peppermint Tingling Butt Wipes For Men. I don't like using the bathroom without them. Anyway, don't take my word for it, try it for yourself, you've got nothing to lose but all that unwanted facial hair. Happy shaving!
